The 190 SL Group Convention will be held in Moab, Utah on October 20-24. Moab has become the recreation capital of Canyon Country with two National Parks in the immediate vicinity. We will visit these treasures and enjoy their timeless beauty.  The Canyon Country is a vast area accessed by four wheeled drive vehicles but we will experience the areas accessible by paved roads during the convention.  The After the Ball tour will expand the tour area of Canyon Country.

The club has reserved rooms at the Hoodoo Hotel which is a part of Hilton’s Curio Hotel Collection. The standard rooms come with a King bed or 2 Queen beds.  There are also two of what the Hoodoo calls “casitas”.  They are in separate buildings with two casitas in each building. Each casita has 2 bedrooms with en suite baths and a living room, kitchen, small patio and dining area. They are similar to a two bed room condominium which is configured on two levels with living space on one level and bedrooms on the second level.  They are excellent for two couples.  The cost is 50% more per couple than a standard room.

The weather in Moab near the end of October is generally pleasant and cool.  It is desert country; it cools down when the sun sets and the chance for precipitation is remote. We are planning most events outdoors.  Driving 190SLs anywhere in Canyon Country will be limited to paved roads.  This, with the exception of a “Jeep Tour”, will limit us to the periphery of this fabulous country.

The convention is planned for the end of October and there is always potential for snow in the Colorado high country and even in Denver.  Usually, an early snow will come and go in a single day and leave beautiful, clear skies and cool temperatures.
