The After the Ball tour began at Monmouth Hot springs, driving east out of the park and stopping to tour Bernie's home and "tree" in Silver Gate MT and then over Beartooth Pass to Red Lodge.  The next day we drove to Cody and onto Thermopolis.

Right is a picture of Don Freese's car at the top of Bear Tooth Pass (10,690 ft) with he road from the valley in the background.

Lunch was hot dogs and chips.
Halfway up Bernie's driveway, was a relocate 1930's park service cabin.
The cabin interior was original with some restoration.  A reflection back into time.

Bernie's house was very original and creative.  He gave the architect a free hand.
A view from inside the main living area with views in all directions.
Bernie #A3? had unlimited stories of cars and everything else.
Bernie's tree is an 1879 survey marker that defines the line between MT and WY.

Driving north and east, we began climbing.

In Red Lodge, we met the "Rally to the Sun"; their cars were on display..

Dinner was at the Kitchen and Wine Bar (our type of place).
They sold "House Wine" and "Bitch" wine.
We ate outside, the food was excellent.

On the drive south, Jim Villers had a fuel pump failure, a quick bypass repair.

We ate lunch at the Erma Hotel, founded by Buffalo Bill.
Some took time to tour the excellent Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody.
We stayed in historic Plaza Hotel in Thermopolis.  The hotel had a mineral springs pool.
