The Back Road Tour stops on top of Windy Point Overlook with a view of the San Juan Mountains.

Map of day three, from Lake City, lunch in Creede and ending at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs..
The view from the Crystal Lodge porch showed the parking lot full of 190SL's.  This was after a "spirited" dinner with a "high" waitress..
Unfortunately, it was Jim Blint's turn to have car trouble. Don diagnosed it as a burned wiring harness and a failed starter..
The car was raised with a "granite axle stand" and everyone pitched in.
Guess who is under the dash (two names required). The wiring harness was patched and gravity became the starter.
While the workers worked, the women served breakfast in the parking lot.
Brian took the opportunity to wash his car.  (Don had already taken his to the car wash).
We made it to the top of Windy Point Overlook on the way to Slumgullion Pass.
This plaque identifies the peaks in the panoramic picture above.
Brian "fixed" his over-heating by tightening this radiator cap. Jim Blint parked so he could roll downhill for a jump start.
Posing with your car is part of the routine.  Here Jim and Betty Villers are in their routine.
We stopped in Creede, some ate at Rose of Creede, an outdoor, open grill food stand for lunch.
Creede is an art's place, a sample is this moose quilt.  We ate ice cream cones while waiting for the rain to "pause" before leaving.
We parked on the outside of Creede where Jim Blint would have a good down hill run to get his car started.
We arrived at Princeton Hot Springs late in the afternoon.  After a "slow" dinner, we hit the springs for a warm swim.
This time the party was in the parking lot. The snacks and wine appeared for all to enjoy.
Somehow the parties continued into the night, or as long as the food and beverage held out.
A deer came to visit Susan Ackerman in the morning..
After leaving the Hot Springs, several members stopped for a final breakfast in Buena Vista.
The back roads tour  ended at Mount Princeton Hot springs after three wonderful days of  mountain road driving.  A close feeling of  friendship and camaraderie developed between the participants during the tour

Let's do it again!
